Well the past two days have been a lot easier to accomplish what I set out for, and I am feeling a positive change in my mood as well as my body.
Also, I think my plan about making videos is going to be a better idea for my self improvement than I thought. I had taken some photos and put them on my facebook page, then asked a Yogi friend her opinion and she virtually corrected me on my alignment… well simply told me…” Your headstand could be straighter”and “Your left foot is forward some in Wheel”. Okay- great. This is what I need- even though I know how the asanas are suppose to be- and I looked at the photos first and thought this- I accepted them as how they were… however, she knows and I know that I can do these asanas more correctly. So I will be working on my alignment over the next week and then maybe I will post some more photos. The thing about taking photos- is it takes away from my practice time a bit and I am more worried about how I look than just doing my practice… but I think I will get the hang of this. I do need to just enjoy my practice and do my best- but if I am going to be a teacher, I need to have a bit more discipline and goal setting in mind as well.
Well today was interesting because I lost my cellphone coming back from the Skatepark (Recycling day in Puerto today. The first Friday of every month from 9am until 1pm you can bring all your recyclable goods down to the skatepark and they will take them for you. Big things such as old stoves, computers, coffee makers… you name it- they take it. They take plastic bottles, cups, containers, glass bottles, pop cans, food cans, cardboard boxes, cardboard juice and milk boxes… they take it all…
FOR FREE. The only thing you need to do is bring your recyclable material clean, down there organized …or put it in the organized pile.
So after you finish using something plastic or a can- give it a rinse and put it to the side and you can bring it down to the park OR
PUT IT NEXT TO YOUR GARBAGE on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. You just need to put all the recyclable stuff in a clear plastic bag (you can buy them at Sam’s Club I heard)or in a plastic container. (The kind that vegetables come in at the grocery store). Great eh? There was a bunch of stuff down there today and many people stopping by. There was a really nice lady named I think Diane who said she loves recycling and her and another man named Randy is another avid recycler. So good news for them and others in this community that one can recycle almost anything.
Just make sure that you rinse your containers well!
Oh yeah- and I had lost my cellphone, but by the end of the day- due to GPS navigation and by being able to put a message on my phone that says to call my Partner- I got it back. Brand as new… or as I should say… Old as Old… but didn’t look like it had any new scratched haha. During my hunt for my phone I was super pleasantly surprised to have met very friendly and helpful people. Two people actually offered me the use of their computers to track my phone and another lady said that if she hears anything, she will let me know… and really mean’t it- actually went on to asking for my other information. Sometimes, when people don’t really want to help they will say ” Okay, if I hear anything I will let you know.” But then nothing else. How are they going to let you know, if they don’t have your number or know where you live? Right? Hehe but- not here in Puerto. The people are friendly, helpful, green and warm… just need to leave the house to know that.
Resolution for the new year- Find a balance between study, work and play… this is a hard thing to do. I kind of have a habit of being an extremest with the above. I will work everyday for 6 months, then leave and play every day for 6 months…I will study every day for 6 months without much desire for play… well… if I am looking to balance my body and life, I will need to add more social interaction to my schedule- as I just absolutely love meeting new people. It’s the honest truth. I love people. All kinds. All walks of life- as long as they want to chat, I would like to have a conversation with them. I am defiantly my mothers daughter in this sense.
Well I have a few more thins to complete on my checklist for today before it gets to late.
