Well this month was my first full month living here in Puerto Escondido.
My new home for this year. So I am estimating I am going to be here until about February/March this year.
This month, has been been a pleasure of experiences, lessons. I cried. I laughed. I became stronger and more flexible in my body and mind.
February started with my heart opening plant medicine ceremony. There I met three new friends who I have had the opportunity to get to know more as the month developed. It started under a full moon of Aquarius- the new age of light and truth.
With the knowledge that we are the light warriors, and we need to peacefully fight to spread light and love and help raise our vibrations and those around us- so we all can begin to come into the light and begin to awaken.
Next came the plant medicine, reintegration ceremony, which ended up meeting some more new friends. I will never forget when we sat around the table eating smoked fish on the inauguration of my neighbors place and a new friend was playing a song about love, as we talked about love- and the full moon was behind his head. And it was such a beautiful night- and then we danced until 2 in the morning. Magic happened that night. We shared in a universal hug and we all had fun. Perhaps- I met a soulmate this night too, soulmates for me, are not necessary romantic partners- but people who are suppose to meet to help you learn something about yourself- help you evolve. During this process, my heart has been activated and felt sad a few times this month, but I was always able to bring back my emotions to happiness and contentment after a few hours of energy/mantra work.
The next day I went to a beautiful river, with another group of very special people. It was a lovely day and we ended up sharing a delicious vegan meal after to the setting sun. I feel although I get along really well with Canadians from the coast and maybe one day I can call that place home. Actually, I probably met two soulmates this month haha… one of them is Canadian and I learned a lot from him and know I will continue to learn more. He already helped me to understand myself.
I had a few Spanish classes with a new friend, who is super smart and talented and I’m lucky to have her taking her time to share with me, helping me with my Spanish- which I need to improve, but I have been talking Spanish a lot more this year than I have ever in my life. I am going to mark it into my plan for march to continue these classes and begin to take classes from an experience teach as well who can help me upgrade my level 2 spanish. First I just need to manifest money.
My sister and niece came for a week so I shared in some nice suppers, some beach days at La Punta, Carrazalilo and Playas Angelita and Manzanilla. I went to the very cool night market here and met a very interesting and talented 12 year old boy who paints mandalas to help him with his depression. I want him to paint a mural for me.
I got curtains made up for my room, and wooden boxes, made a closet, toilet seat, and booster and …well everything one needs to start giving therapies out of their room.
Then mid month I began giving therapies and had really nice reviews from everyone and people who are recommending others to me and it’s been great.
I had a few Sunday Fundays- a ladies brunch where we stayed until lunch at a nice beach bar in Zicatela and farewell dinner for our guide and one Sunday Funday with my neighbor… which left me with some new experiences and ate my first pizza of the year, and it was delicious. Everything is better cooked on fire and shared with friends.
I went down to Zicatela for dancing twice and even made it until 2:30 with my sister… ended with tacos and having a good sleep…
I checked out a few new places in town, including S.O.S which has a bunch of games to play and free popcorn.
I met some new neighbors who live in my building and I hope in the future I will make friends with some of the women living here.
I woke up almost all the mornings between 5 and 9 and most days around 7am this month and began to study by 9am if I was by myself.
I did Jala netti most mornings, and was taking my herbs, I gave myself quite a few massages and … just in these past days I have been having resistance to self care again, but everyone needs a day off.
I have went to almost every sunset in the past weeks and have been enjoying going to them mostly by myself and enjoying practicing yoga and meditation.
I made some recommendations to my parents about eating and both of them are loosing weight and feeling good and having more energy to do more things outside. My mom has been a machine this month, helping me with my little house projects too as well as teaching Spanish and just being her.
What else? There was a few earthquakes here that “shook” us up, but no damage here.
I met a cool lady who spoke another language at the bank and I am going to do more research into this- also, I feel like I made a connection with her and that in the future- I would love to be able to help people that live in the small towns with inflammation and such- by showing them simple self care techniques and yoga. I made enough money giving therapies to pay for my rent, I opened a bank account and have one living plant… I have been making sprouts, kitchari, eating primary a vegan diet and having no struggles with finding delicious foods to feed my body and soul. I found where to do my laundry, where to buy my oils and fave foods…
So this month, I wanted to spend time opening my heart and being more open and social- and I think this happened. So it was successful month. I wanted to start my studies and begin giving therapies and dreamed to make enough to pay for my rent. I wanted to be living Ayurvedically – walking my path… and be studying hard. I am working on my third module of the month- but finding it slightly difficult to focus… and I realize that my Vata is
To be honest, I am happy about everything- but I need to get into a better swing of studying and keeping to my eating principals.
So- well, good thing… tomorrow is a new day.
Planning is going to be needed to make this next month successful. I need to put my studies first and not procrastinate so I can enjoy life, but also take the weekend for myself away from studying if I am finished my school assignments.
I am writing out all my daily goal of routine, and I want to check in daily this month to see how I did. Good luck future Becky!
March:
Finish another module in school with having my quiz and home-work in on time and without anxiety.

Build kitchen shelves and finish building things in house that optimize it for therapies.
Welcome my friend who is coming to visit for a week and have fun with him and explore around a bit.
