My Community

Sept 29, 2019
Anywhere I go to work and to offer my therapies becomes my new community. I am very grateful at the moment to be stationed in Coronach, Saskatchewan for the next 3 months. I am not here because I think there are many people necessarily interested in Ayurveda… I am here to work as a laborer… like the majority of the people here also are doing. However, I am in my internship- so this is giving me my motivation to speak up about what I am studying and try to share it with as many people as possible while I am here. And with this unique situation, I have been able to explore my own lifestyle while working long hours in harsh environments and able to confidently say that I KNOW that I can help some people living here, even if it`s just showing them some simple purification techniques to clear out coal dust out of their nose at night- or by offering them a medicinal massage to help bring relief to their tired bodies. I have been using Ayurveda to help keep myself healthy, energized and stable throughout the last 3 years working down here- and this year I am continuing to do so- with even more conviction to even more more positive choices for myself.
Ayurveda also has SO many great, easy and economical ways that the aging community can help fight digestive issues, arthritis, cracky bones and depleting senses… so I am putting it out there that these next months I am going to be able to help a lot of people here.

Still beginning to meet my community here in Playacar and Playa del Carmen.
I did just begin teaching at one community place called Consciencia Viva- and I really like the people that are involved with this Yoga Shala and community gathering place.
I hope to get to know more people within my next months there as well as make more friends in the Playa area.

This is a link to Consciencia Viva. They have donation based Yoga and Meditation classes.

If anybody from Playacar or Playa del Carmen is reading this, and thinks I should check out other Community events or places- please let me know! I am looking for like minded people! Thank-you.

(From 2016)

I need to further develop this page, but my goal is to have information about my new community, Puerto Aventuras!!!

I am excited that I met the Woman who is very passionate about the recycling program here and she has sent me some information. SO I will be making some posters and putting them on here that people can download.
But for starters: You can recycle various things in Puerto Aventuras. On Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays you can put your rinsed out plastic containers, flattened milk boxes, cans and bags in a clean bag or in one of those plastic boxes that vegetables come in- NEXT TO YOUR GARBAGE and the lovely people who collect the garbage, also know about the recycling option in Puerto. If you have bigger things or wish to just recycle everything at one time- the FIRST FRIDAY of every month you can go down to the Skate Park between 9am-1pm and they will take all kinds of recyclable goodies- for free! Also- if you have anything that is still good- but you aren’t using, you can bring it on down- and maybe your garbage will become someone else’s treasure! (I found myself a cool meditation stool there last week!)

Also I want to post about events that are going to be happening here.
I met a few women who have lived here for awhile and they love bringing different musicians and events here. I also, one day- hope to bring some Yogi friends here to share their gifts.

Information on accommodation of friends. I know a great family who has some beautiful apartments and houses for rent. Including the house that I am renting at the moment.
You can find out more information about these rentals here:

Also I would like to share about how to be healthy here, about the Spas (which mean I will need to try them out!) , the well priced vegetable store in Puerto Aventuras called “Del Prado” as well as the garden market they twice a week, etc.
